Make Me Smart

A nice moment from the closing credits of the Surveillance Economy episode of Make Me Smart with Kai and Molly.  I’m not the producer anymore, but I’m still part of the listener community. And hearing from all listeners all over the world was always my favorite part of the show. Or was it the pop sockets? Or that time we all learned that a pony was “just a small horse?” Or all the times Kai sang show tunes in the pre-show?

Under The Hood

Helping launch Under The Hood was the defining experience of my first year as a podcast consultant. I was with the podcast from almost the start of the concept all the way to final episode of Season One. In our wine-fueled look back at Season One, Executive Producer Chelsea Levy said some very kind things about our work together, and I am going to share them with you because that’s what other people yelled at me to do. 🙂

There’s a lot more of that conversations with Aleks, Patti and Chelsea in our Look Back at Season One, and if you haven’t heard an episode of UTH yet, check us out!

it’s in print, they can’t take it back

Screen Shot 2018-04-08 at 8.17.36 PMThere’s a terrific book called Follow The Geeks, written by Lyndsey Gilpin and Jason Hiner. You should read it! It’s full of great stories and advice about charting your own creative destiny. One chapter focuses on Tom Merritt, podcast pioneer, my former boss, and the person who taught me how to build the kind of online community that reflects, respects, and amplifies the values of its host. The chapter also includes one of my favorite sentences of all time. See if you can guess which one.
